On the Road and Port Fairview

Image
The Wider World After some deliberation in the morning, it was decided that we were not going to be joining the crew of The Drowsy Rock on their sail to Port Fairview. A desire to view the country side and enjoy the time we had was the fair reasoning. After that deliberation we went to gather our weapons and start out on the next leg. Mace, in all his wisdom, got it into his head to acquire some flint, completely forgetting that Ooru can produce flame at will and is a much more effective fire starter than any piece of flint would ever be. Never the less we browsed the market of Cragskeep for a brief time, then set off towards the road. We caught a passing boy and sent him off to let the crew know that we would not be joining them and to wish them well. We may have done this a bit late in the game, but such is our group. A comfortable day of traveling passed, with some entertaining experimentation with light spells. At one point Mace ended up with glowing hair. He was quite pleased wit

Finding Cragskeep

To the Pits Apparently I was not the only one to have a disturbed night. Claudie woke with a scream of fear, and what sounded like a name tore from her throat. It woke me, the echoes of my own disquiet reverberating through me. In spite of the desolate beauty of the city, I was starting to not like this place. We gathered ourselves and Gisir left us saying we should make it out of The Wastes before the end of the day. Mace and Magni did one final search of the ruble in the temple, just to see if any other items of note could be found. Mace did pick up some nice rocks...they seemed to make him happy so who am I to judge? We left the temple and Mace asked if we could go to check out the tower that they had seen the night before while scouting. In a fit of 'why the hell not' we headed over to check it out. The doors must have been over 12 feet high and it had once been an impressive building, but most of the floors above had caved in and it was hard to tell what the tower had bee

Into the Wastes

Steel and Dreams The morning had us up early and down in the mess for breakfast. Magni came up with the idea of seeing if there were any troops going in our direction that we could travel with for a time. We asked around a bit and found there was a troop leaving that morning lead by Sergeant Peregrine and we were granted permission to go along. We went about packing up our bits and pieces. I released my mess of hair and re-plaiting my hair while I watched Claudie cast a new spell. Using some of the material she had acquired the previous evening and speaking arcane words a small furry shape appeared in front of her. She explained that this fur ball was her familiar - a cat with a white body grey tail and paws and a sweet grey face. Her eyes were a striking blue, and she seemed very intelligent. Claudie said her name was Octavia. We met the sergeant at the gate, and found that Rhyse was part of this troop. We had a good chat as we traveled. Unfortunately we were not traveling the same di

Travel to Millhill

A Daring Rescue The morning broke clear. I woke with a new excitement. We were about to embark on our first long job as a group. I started my day carefully folding the cloak back into it's package and...sigh...repacking my backpack. Really it's a small thing if I can keep my masterpiece well tended, and it brings me comfort. I often wonder what it was like for other adventurers, packing and repacking bags and getting so good at it that they could fit everything they needed into a small backpack and have it ready to go in no time. Really is something special. Anyway, we managed to get going, and after some discussion around weather to try and buy a cart or horses, discovering how freakishly expensive they were and giving up the whole idea, we made our way out of Skyhold and off on the road again. We were headed towards Millhill the fort town to the south west. It was a bit of a wet day, but overall a comfortable day. We found an appropriate stand of trees to roost under and pas

Skyhold

The First Jobs We had an uneventful few nights on the road towards Skyhold. It was relatively pleasant travel with some chatting with my new companions. I learned a few things, like Claudie really likes all books, Ooru can tap into the 'Nooshpere' whatever that is and has some very useful tricks up his sleeves. Magni has a blood brother named Blank and doesn't really know where his abilities with magic come from. Still don't know a lot about Mace except his family is inter-racial. Still, he really is a kind sort of person. Somewhat unexpected for a half-orc barbarian, but it is quite refreshing. The terrain had started to change. There were rocks and cliffs beginning to alter the landscape. We came to a valley between two cliff. Some short travel along this valley and we found a 10 ft wall, with a guarded open gate. We had made our way to Skyhold. The town was laid out very particularly. Residence on the left and right sections and the merchant quarter down the center.

Owl's Hollow

The Beginning from @PhotonBetamax Leaving home had been difficult, but it was something that I had dreamt of for years. In spite of my 'youth' as determined by my people, I knew that among other races I would be considered an adult. So I traveled out of the Hollow Hills and made my way to Plossoria, staying only two nights, I booked passage on a ship traveling up the coast. I disembarked, somewhat worse for wear in a port town near Mill Hill. After a night of recovery I started poking around listening for interesting happenings, and simple jobs for pay. My talent for story telling often bought me a bed for a night or two at inns, and I found myself slowly making my way East. Eventually I found myself in a tavern of questionable repute listening to the gossip of a few. It seemed, that a bit down the road, the town of Owl's Hollow was experiencing some strange happenings. Tales of people disappearing, only to reappear insisting they had never left, or disappearing but still t
